Hemerocallus minor ‘Rainsong’

The catalogue name "Hemerocallus" is a spelling variant of Hemerocallis. Hemerocallis minor 'Rainsong' is a cultivar derived from the dwarf botanical species native to northern Asia (Siberia, Mongolia, China, Korea). The plant forms a compact clump of narrow, grass-like leaves reaching about 50 cm. Each stem bears several funnel-shaped, bright yellow flowers, without strong fragrance, each lasting only a day but produced in succession in abundance in early summer. This small species, parent to many garden hybrids, requires a sunny position, moist well-drained soil, and clumps that divide easily.
