Tulipa humilis

Tulipa humilis is a dwarf botanical tulip native to the mountains of Iran, Armenia and the Caucasus. Only 10 to 15 cm tall, it produces a star-shaped pink to violet flower, often with a yellow eye, from late winter or early spring, carried on a slender stem above narrow, glaucous foliage. Ideal for rockeries or pots, it needs a sunny position, very well-drained, even stony soil, and pronounced summer drought during its dormancy.
