Hyacinthoides lingulata (forme hâtive, early flowering)



Forme à floraison fin aout, avant les feuilles. En fin été; rapidement apparaît une courte tige florale portant un corymbe constitué d'une vingtaine de fleurs bleu pâle. Feuillage courte apparait just après . Son bulbe charnu indique son appartenance au genre Hyacinthoides. Nettement plus grand et plus attractif que Scilla autumnalis. The last flowering form is ssp.ciliolata which has very neat compact rosettes of flowers. (a traduire)
The genus
Very close to the genius Hyacinthus, but the actual bulb is quite different: ressembles a tuber and is renewed every year. Flowers are campanulate. Occurs naturally in woodlands in Spain and North Africa, and makes a good border plant in shaded or half shaded situations. In Britain and nw Europe H.non-scripta abundantly in woodlands (Bleu bells)
