Gladiolus hybride

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
Hybrid gladioli comprise the many cultivars derived from crossing Gladiolus species, mainly of South African origin. They are characterised by tall stems bearing large funnel-shaped flowers in summer, in a very wide range of colours and forms, single or double depending on the variety. Grow in full sun, in rich, well-drained soil; plant in successive batches in spring, lifting the corms before winter in cold climates.
