Iris linifolia

Described by Regel in 1905, Iris linifolia is a Juno iris (subgenus Scorpiris) whose epithet, "flax-leaved," refers to its narrow, fine leaves. As detailed data specific to this species are lacking, the description below applies to the Juno group in general: geophytes with a small tunicated bulb, narrow basal leaves arranged in a fan, and solitary or clustered flowers with drooping falls often marked by a coloured crest and reduced standards, native to Central Asia and the Near East. They require well-drained soil, a sunny position, and a dry summer dormancy after spring flowering. Species not confirmed in detail.
