Iris parvula is a species of the Oncocyclus section native to Anatolia, Turkey; its Latin epithet, "very small," points to a dwarf stature typical of the smaller Oncocyclus irises. As data specific to this species remain limited, the description below applies to the Oncocyclus section in general: rhizomatous irises of the Near East and the Caucasus, with glaucous fan-shaped leaves and a single large flower richly veined or spotted in dark, purple or near-black tones. They grow on dry calcareous soils in full sun and require strict summer dormancy following early flowering. Species not confirmed in detail.
