Iris sp? A lactea/ensata

The precise identity of this iris remains uncertain, between Iris lactea, a Central and East Asian species with pale blue to whitish flowers growing in dry soils, and Iris ensata, the Japanese iris, with large purple to white flowers growing in moist to waterlogged soil. In either case, it is a rhizomatous perennial with narrow, linear leaves, flowering in spring or early summer. Depending on the species, it grows in ordinary well-drained soil (I. lactea) or in constantly moist to submerged soil (I. ensata), in a sunny position.
