Ixia conferta ?

The name Ixia conferta is now regarded as a synonym of Ixia abbreviata, a species from the southwestern Cape of South Africa, growing on clay and granitic soils in renosterveld. This cormous Iridaceae reaches 15 to 35 cm, with sword-shaped leaves often twisted toward the tip. The flowers, crowded into a spike, are white to pale yellow or red-purple with a dark centre, and the bracts are typically rust-brown in their upper half. It flowers in spring. Cultivation requires well-drained soil and a sunny position, with a dry summer rest like other Cape Ixia.
