Kalanchoe petite rosette haute

The label "petite rosette haute" ("small tall rosette") does not correspond to any specific epithet and presumably describes the habit of a form or cultivar. The description below therefore applies to the genus Kalanchoe in general: these succulent Crassulaceae, native mainly to Africa, Madagascar and Asia, include highly varied forms — rosette-forming, bushy or upright — with fleshy, often toothed leaves forming compact, water-storing rosettes. Depending on the species, flowering produces cymose clusters of colourful tubular flowers. They are grown in a very free-draining succulent substrate, in bright light, watered only once the soil has dried out completely between applications.
