The title 'Kellisea basilicea' most likely refers to Kelissa brasiliensis (now often included within the genus Cypella as Cypella brasiliensis), a cormous Iridaceae native to southern Brazil. Like other members of this small group, it grows from a tunicated corm and produces narrow, pleated foliage. Its summer flowers are yellow with purple spotting, star-shaped in the typical Tigridieae fashion, and generally last only a single day. It requires well-drained soil, a sunny position, and a dry rest outside the growing season. Given the uncertain original spelling, this identification is offered with caution.
