Laelia albida

Native to Mexico, where it grows as an epiphyte or lithophyte in the oak and pine forests of the western part of the country between 1000 and 3000 m elevation, Laelia albida, the white laelia, has conical-ovoid pseudobulbs that wrinkle with age and two to three linear leaves. From autumn into winter, typically November to January, a 12–60 cm spike bears two to nine honey-scented flowers, 2.4 to 5 cm across, white to cream sometimes tinged pink, with a white to rose lip bearing three yellow keels. It requires a cool, dry, bright winter rest.
