Lapeirousia violacea ?

Endemic to the Northern and Western Cape, South Africa, Lapeirousia violacea grows on sandstone soils in arid fynbos and renosterveld of the northwestern Cape, from the Bokkeveld Mountains to the Biedouw Valley. This cormous Iridaceae reaches 8 to 10 cm tall. Its long-tubed flowers, borne in a short spike, are violet with dark red markings on the lower tepals. The species, locally threatened by expanding rooibos cultivation, requires well-drained soil and a sunny position. The exact identification of this stock remains to be confirmed with certainty.
