Ledebouria sp5

The specific identity of this Ledebouria, a fourth undetermined accession in the collection, could not be established with certainty, so the description below is given at genus level. Ledebouria is a bulbous genus in the Scilloideae, distributed mainly across sub-Saharan Africa in savanna and grassland with summer rainfall, with the greatest diversity in north-eastern South Africa. The fleshy, often spotted leaves are accompanied by racemes of small, drooping, green, pink or lilac flowers, generally appearing in late spring or summer. Many species are winter-deciduous, a period during which the bulb should be kept dry. Grow in well-drained soil, in a sunny to part-shaded position.
