Tecophilaea leichtinii

Tecophilaea 'Leichtlinii' is a pale blue form of Tecophilaea cyanocrocus, the famous "Chilean blue crocus," a cormous plant in the Tecophilaeaceae family, now extremely rare and possibly extinct in the wild. It produces small, cup-shaped flowers of a delicate blue, often with a whitish centre, early in spring. Its cultivation requires perfectly drained soil, full sun, and a dry summer rest, making it a collector's plant best suited to experienced growers, often grown in pots or an alpine frame.
