The genus
Leucocoryne is a very promising genus from the mediterranean climatic zone of Chili. The development of the plant is rather discrete, but its flowering is surprising: thin but rigid 60cm tall flowerstalks suddenly rise up with fragrant flowers of an interesting range of colours, which are also very suitable as cut flowers. Leucocoryne multiplies by offsets and seed. As the leaves emerge relatively late it is quite hardy.
