Anemone fulgens 'Multipetala' (Ranunculaceae) is a double-flowered form of the scarlet windflower, now considered part of Anemone hortensis, native to the Mediterranean region (France, Italy). This tuberous perennial has palmate foliage and, in spring, brilliant red flowers packed with numerous narrow petals forming a dense pompon around a centre of bluish stamens. Grow in full sun, in light, well-drained, chalky soil; plant the tubers in autumn in a warm, sheltered spot.
