Narcissus calcicola

Endemic to Portugal, where it grows in limestone crevices and occasionally in rocky clearings or at the edge of holm oak groves (Serra de Sicó, Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, Serra de Montejunto, Serra da Arrábida, the Algarve), Narcissus calcicola is a dwarf jonquil. Its narrow, blue-tinged leaves frame a miniature, pure bright yellow flower with a broad, shallow cup and a delicate violet scent. It requires well-drained limestone soil and a sunny to partly shaded position.
