Narcissus cantabricus ssp cantabricus

Native to southern Spain, Algeria, Morocco and the Balearic Islands, Narcissus cantabricus subsp. cantabricus is a small bulbous daffodil no more than 20 cm tall, with narrow, channelled, dark green foliage. It bears a solitary, lightly scented, pure white flower with a widely flared, funnel-shaped corona (the 'hoop petticoat') about 3 cm across, wavy-edged, and short perianth segments spreading at almost right angles. It is one of the earliest daffodils to flower, from December to March. It requires a sunny position, well-drained soil, and dry summer dormancy.
