Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
Endemic to the Sierras Béticas of southern Spain (Cadiz, Málaga, Granada, Jaén), Narcissus cuatrecasasii is closely related to Narcissus rupicola but more robust, with slightly broader grey-green leaves. It produces one to a few flowers per stem, vivid canary yellow and strongly fragrant, with a wider throat than its close relative. It grows in rocky mountain habitats and requires very free-draining soil, a sunny position and a dry summer rest.
