Narcissus minor

Native to the Pyrenees and northern Spain, Narcissus minor is a small dwarf daffodil forming a clump of grey-green foliage from a brown, ovoid, long-necked bulb. It reaches only 10 to 15 cm in height. In early spring it bears a single, horizontal to slightly nodding flower, with pale to deep yellow tepals about 2 cm long and a bright yellow trumpet corona of similar length. A hardy species of mountain grassland and woodland margins, it thrives in well-drained soil, sun to part shade, and benefits from a fairly dry summer rest after flowering.
