Narcissus romieuxii

Native to the Middle Atlas and Rif mountains of Morocco above 1500 m, where it grows in cedar and oak forest, Narcissus romieuxii is a small, early-flowering daffodil with dark green, thread-like foliage. The roughly 9 cm stem bears a single pale to mid-yellow flower, its narrow perianth segments contrasting with a broad, flaring trumpet. It flowers in winter, often from December under cold-frame cultivation. It requires very free-draining soil, a sunny position and a dry summer rest, being sensitive to moisture outside its growing season.
