Narcissus rupicola

Ranging from northern Portugal to western and central Spain, including the Spanish Pyrenees, Narcissus rupicola - the rock daffodil - grows in rocky crevices and ledges with very shallow soil. This small bulbous perennial has narrow, linear leaves in a basal rosette and a stem bearing a single yellow or white flower with a yellow or orange corona. It requires very free-draining soil in a rocky setting, a sunny position and a dry summer rest.
