Narcissus tazetta italicus (/50)

The genus

Narcissus mainly comes from the mountains in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. From the enormous range of hybrids and cultivars only a very limited selection is presented. Our choice, determined by their ability to persist in a mediterranean garden, is mainly directed to the botanical species and the tazetta group. As the roots of most species are persistent, Narcissus bulbs benefit of being left undisturbed for several years. The original species of the N. tazetta group were found in Italy and South of France. They are typically mediterranean and will only perform well in this climat. As they don't need a cold period and flowering starts from December onwards until the end of February they are a real asset to brighten up a wintergarden. All these species also do well in pots and can be brought indoor while flowering, where you can even better appreciate their unique fragrance.
