Narcissus tenuifolius x

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
The name Narcissus tenuifolius, here marked as a hybrid ("x"), corresponds to a fine-leaved form once recognised as a variety of Narcissus bulbocodium (var. tenuifolius), the Pyrenean hoop-petticoat daffodil; the precise identity of this entry remains uncertain. It is a small bulbous plant with thread-like leaves, producing in spring a solitary flower with a flared, funnel-shaped, golden-yellow corolla and greatly reduced tepals, characteristic of the bulbocodium group. Low-growing, often under 15 cm, it grows in full sun, on well-drained, preferably sandy soil, with a dry summer dormancy after flowering.
