Narcissus viridiflora

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
Native to the southern Iberian Peninsula (Andalusia) and northern Morocco, Narcissus viridiflorus is unique among daffodils for its olive-green flowers. Its one or two slender, rush-like leaves remain present during flowering. Around the autumn equinox, the stem bears up to five star-shaped flowers with six narrow, swept-back tepals, opening at night and releasing an intense fragrance to attract nocturnal pollinators. The plant is summer-dormant. It requires well-drained soil, full sun, and a Mediterranean-type climate with a dry summer.
