Onixotis punctata

Onixotis punctata (synonyms Dipidax punctata, Wurmbea punctata) is a cormous plant native to the winter-wet areas of the Cape, South Africa, growing on sandstone and clay slopes from the Bokkeveld Mountains to Swellendam. A slender stem bears a spike of small, sessile white flowers, sometimes blotched with purple. Flowering occurs in the southern spring. It grows in cool to moist soil during growth, in full sun, with a drier rest during summer dormancy.
