Onosma albo rosea

The name Onosma albo rosea corresponds to Onosma alboroseum, a perennial in the borage family (Boraginaceae) native to western Asia (Turkey, the Kurdistan region, the Caucasus), growing in rocky, mountainous habitats. Like other Onosma, it forms a rosette of narrow leaves bristling with coarse hairs typical of the family, arising from a persistent woody rootstock. In spring and summer it bears drooping clusters of tubular flowers, whose pale coloring - suggested by the name white-pink - ranges from creamy white to soft pink. In cultivation it requires full sun and poor, stony, sharply drained soil typical of rock gardens.
