Oxalis pes-caprae double (flora plena) — Bermuda buttercup
The name refers to the form of the leaves (the shape of a goat's "foot". In mild coastal areas (around méditeraean sea) O. pes-caprae can be extremely INVASIVE and should be cultivated in containers, where it will make a real splash of yellow flowers. Allthough this species is not invasive in colder regions, we do not dare to sell this particular invasive species.
But here we off the DOUBLE flowered form (flora plena), which does not make seed and DOES NOT SPREAD as the normal type.
The genus
Oxalis is a very large genus , especially known by its invasive weedy species. However, the species presented make excellent and attractive container plants. When referring to an invasive species we will surely draw your attention to it. A large number of Oxalis species from South Africa that could be described as 'shrubby.'
