Pamianthe peruviana

Native to seasonally dry areas of Peru and Bolivia, Pamianthe peruviana, sometimes called the giant Peruvian daffodil, is an epiphytic Amaryllidaceae that grows naturally on tree branches. It forms a cluster of 5 to 7 linear leaves with a prominent midrib, joined into a pseudo-stem up to 30 cm long. Its large, strongly fragrant white to off-white flowers open in late winter and spring. Presumed extinct in the wild, the species now survives only in cultivation. It requires an epiphytic, free-draining medium, bright filtered light and good humidity.
