Ledebouria paucifolia is a small bulbous plant native to southern Africa, in the Asparagaceae family, closely related to the silver squill (Ledebouria socialis). As its name suggests (paucifolia, few-leaved), it produces sparse foliage, often mottled with purple, from a shallow bulb that clumps readily by offsets. Small pale green to purplish flowers appear in a loose raceme in spring or summer. It is best grown in pots, in bright light and well-drained soil, protected from frost.
