Pelargonium cuculatum

Native to the Cape region of South Africa, where it grows on sandy and granite coastal slopes from Saldanha to Baardskeerdersbos, Pelargonium cucullatum is a bushy perennial subshrub of the family Geraniaceae, reaching 1 to 2 m in height. Its rounded, cup-shaped leaves (the epithet "cucullatum" means hooded) are hairy and lightly aromatic when crushed. From spring to summer it bears large clustered flowers, pink to purple with darker red veining. It thrives in well-drained, sandy soil and full sun, tolerating drought well once established.
