Ranunculus graminifolia

Widespread across southern Europe and North Africa, Ranunculus graminifolius (now placed under R. gramineus) is a tuberous perennial buttercup of well-drained alpine meadows, with populations found in the Pyrenees. It forms a tuft of narrow, grey-green, grass-like leaves. In spring and early summer, slender 30 cm stems bear bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers, solitary or in groups of three. It requires a sunny to part-shaded position, fertile, well-drained soil, and goes dormant in summer.
