Rhodophiala advena

Native to central Chile, where it grows at low to middle elevations under a Mediterranean-type climate, Rhodophiala advena is a bulbous plant in the Amaryllidaceae. Stems of 30–40 cm bear an umbel of three to four funnel-shaped flowers in bright apricot, orange or salmon-pink. Flowering occurs in late winter and the southern spring. It needs plentiful water during its spring growth, a sunny to part-shaded position, well-drained soil, and a dry summer rest beginning in early summer.
