Romulea neglecta

Romulea neglecta is a rare species endemic to the Kamiesberg range in the Northern Cape of South Africa. Like other romuleas, it grows from a globose to conical corm bearing a basal ridge, and is distinguished by a single, narrow, rush-like basal leaf. Its flowers, borne on a short stem, have six tepals joined into a very short tube, following the typical floral pattern of the genus. The species grows in a winter-rainfall region and, in cultivation, requires well-drained sandy soil, full sun, and a completely dry summer rest after flowering.
