Romulea schlecteri

Native to the southwestern and west-southwestern Cape, South Africa, Romulea schlechteri grows in sandy soil, often along streams or in seasonally wet ground. This cormous Iridaceae, 8-45 cm tall, produces lilac to mauve or white flowers with a deep yellow to orange throat, the outer segments often purplish or greenish, blotched or striped. The inner bracts have wide white membranous margins. It requires well-drained soil, cool during the growing season, and a sunny position.
