Romulea triflora

Native to South Africa, Romulea triflora is a small cormous iridaceous plant with narrow, sword-shaped leaves 10 to 20 cm long. Its name refers to the three flowers typically borne per stem. The star-shaped flowers, coloured pink to purple with a yellow centre, open in late winter and spring. Like other Cape Romulea, it needs full sun to light shade and well-drained soil, with a dry summer rest following the corm's summer dormancy.
