Leucojum snowflakes

"Snowflakes" is the English common name of the genus Leucojum (Amaryllidaceae), now reduced to two accepted species, L. vernum and L. aestivum, the others having been transferred to the genus Acis. This entry is therefore described at genus level: bulbs producing strap-shaped leaves and white bell-shaped flowers with green tips, borne in umbels. Flowering occurs in spring or early summer depending on the species. Grown in cool to moist soil, in part shade to full sun.
