Tulipa iliensis

Tulipa iliensis is a wild tulip species native to Central Asia, found notably in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and China's Xinjiang region, growing in steppe and arid areas with a continental climate. It is a typical Central Asian bulbous geophyte, forming narrow, glaucous foliage and a single upright flower in spring. Like most botanical tulips from this region, it thrives with a hot, dry summer followed by a cold winter, conditions best reproduced in full sun on poor, sharply drained soil, with a strict summer dormancy.
