Tulipa sp?

The exact species of this tulip could not be confirmed; the following description is given at genus level. Tulipa comprises around a hundred species of bulbous Liliaceae, native mainly to Central Asia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean basin, growing from sea level up to alpine elevations. The tunicated bulb produces glaucous foliage, often broad and fleshy, and a solitary flower (occasionally several), cup- or star-shaped depending on the species, in a wide range of colours except true blue. Flowering occurs in spring. Grow in well-drained soil, in full sun, with an essential dry summer dormancy.
