Tristagma uniflorum is one of the names under which circulates the most widespread South American bulb of the Ipheion-Nothoscordum-Tristagma complex, more commonly called Ipheion uniflorum. Native to Argentina, Uruguay, and southern Brazil, it produces narrow, scented foliage and a single fragrant star-shaped flower per stalk, in shades from white to deep blue-violet depending on the cultivar. Its early flowering spans late winter to spring. Easy to grow in well-drained soil, full sun to partial shade, gradually naturalising via offsets.
