Lilium virginale

Lilium auratum var. virginale is an almost pure white form of the Japanese golden-rayed lily, with the usual gold banding and crimson spotting greatly reduced or absent, giving it a clean, rare appearance in cultivation. As in the type, large bowl-shaped flowers open in late summer on a sturdy stem, with a powerful fragrance. It grows in rich, cool, well-drained soil, ideally acidic to neutral, in part shade, with the bulb planted fairly deep.
