As the exact species of this Watsonia could not be confirmed with certainty, the following description is given at genus level. Watsonia comprises around fifty species of Iridaceae, nearly all endemic to southern Africa, ranging from the mountains and coastal belt of the Western Cape to the Drakensberg escarpment, Eswatini and the eastern Transvaal. These are cormous perennials with fan-shaped leaves, producing tall, sturdy spikes of zygomorphic, funnel-shaped, faintly fragrant flowers in shades of pink, purple or white. Most are fynbos geophytes with summer dormancy, though some species from summer-rainfall regions remain evergreen. Grow in well-drained soil, in full sun.
