White Queen

Amaryllis belladonna 'White Queen' is a white-flowered cultivar of the belladonna lily, a bulbous plant native to South Africa. A stout, leafless stem rises in late summer, before the foliage, bearing an umbel of large, highly fragrant, pure white trumpet flowers with a cream throat. Strap-shaped leaves follow in autumn. It grows in full sun, well-drained soil, the bulb planted with its neck at the surface, and dislikes hard frost, like the type species.
