Zephyranthes sp Rose Huastecana

Nice sized bulbs which produce a robust and vigorous plant; easy to grow. Generous flowering with pink trumpet shaped flowers during June.

The genus

A genus widely distributed throughout America and generally found in wet areas. We have not yet explored many of the 30 species of this genus, but it seems to contain many interesting plants from all sort of habitats. 'Rainlilies' generally flower after a heavy rainfall, (sometimes before, which may also be triggered by low barometric pressure which often coincides with periods of rainfall). Once established they are best left undisturbed. The genus is similar to Habranthus (Zephyranthes has erect flowers with evenly distributed stamens).
