Amaryllis amarygia

xAmarygia parkeri is a garden bigeneric hybrid resulting from a cross between Amaryllis belladonna and Brunsvigia josephinae, two South African bulbous plants in the Amaryllidaceae family. It resembles the belladonna lily but with larger, more vigorous umbels of deep pink flowers, the throat tinged with yellow and copper inherited from Brunsvigia. The stem, reaching almost a metre, appears in late summer before the foliage. It grows in full sun, well-drained soil, the bulb planted with its neck at the surface.
