Crinum baconi

Crinum × baconi is a garden hybrid raised in the United States by crossing Crinum americanum with Crinum zeylanicum, widely grown in the southern states for its compact size, better suited to small gardens than many other crinums. It is a bulbous perennial, evergreen in mild climates, forming a clump of strap-shaped leaves. In late summer it produces large, strongly fragrant flowers, white with red-pink striped centres. It thrives in rich, moist, well-drained soil, in sun to part shade, and needs protection from severe frost.
