Allium forescate

Allium schoenoprasum 'Forescate' is a chive cultivar more vigorous and free-flowering than the type species, forming a dense clump up to 30 cm tall, with bright green, fragrant tubular foliage. In early summer it produces large umbels of pink flowers, edible like the foliage, much appreciated by pollinators. This cultivar is grown like common chives: in a sunny to part-shaded position, in cool, well-drained soil, with a trim after flowering to encourage fresh growth.
